Operational distribution manager
Operational distribution managers are responsible for the application of the global policy or the directives defined by a company’s head office, regional management or a director. In this respect, these professionals:
- supervise, manage and lead an organisation and their team in accordance with the target objectives and the strategic orientations which they have decided on themselves or which have been delegated by line management or a functional management,
- decide on the most appropriate resources to develop the company’s results or sustain them over the long term,
- make sure the corporate image is developed,
- ensure the company’s viability, taking into account taxation and financial obligations and adhering to the legislation which is in place and in force.
Holders of the certificate are capable of: - being fully conversant with all research and analysis techniques which enable the best strategic choices to be made in terms of the development and the profitability of the organisation,
- supervising all the commercial activities using the most appropriate means: marketing tools and techniques (negotiation, purchasing, sales),
- defining the orientations of the human resources management policy by being fully conversant with the legislation in force (promotions, salaries, recruitment, conflict management of all kinds),
- being fully conversant with communication tools, in order to achieve effective development of relationships with all their partners both inside and outside the company.
This profession is exercised in the following sectors: - trade and distribution (specialised and non-specialised, wholesale and retail, food and non-food, under franchise or independent),
- food or non-food industry, distribution suppliers in general.
Posts occupied may be: - store section managers,
- heads of sales departments,
- warehouse managers,
- SME company directors.

The certification comprises two main components: 1. one theoretical component comprising continuous assessment of knowledge relating to the three key areas of trade, administration and management (50% of the overall assessment).
2. one practical component, based in particular on work experience reports giving feedback on an application carried out in a company and presenting a problem solving element, or the assignment carried out in the context of the phase involving their introduction to working life (50% of the overall assessment).
